Gum disease
It is a leading cause of tooth loss worldwide. It causes the gums to become red, swollen, and bleed easily. Initial condition is reversible with professional treatment and good oral home care. Untreated disease can advance to periodontitis known as pyorrhoea. With time tarter can spread and grow below the gum line and producedtoxins by the bacteria andirritate the gums. Ultimately, gums separate from the teeth, forming pockets that become infected. As the disease progresses, the pockets deepen and more gum tissue and bone are destroyed resulting in tooth mobility.
